A bit out of the blue, but I've added three new soundscapes to the site today including about 2.5 hours' worth of MP3 audio. Infinite Descent (Soundscapes > Games) is a soundscape of the horror game Amnesia: The Dark Descent. The Drilling Fields (Soundscapes > Surreal) depicts a broken, dusty mining planet. Crystal Cave (Soundscapes > Surreal) is the sound of singing crystals in a damp cavern. In addition to being added to this site, they are also available for preview on my YouTube channel. |

Lava Voyage is the latest soundscape to be released. Imagine cruising through volcanic seas, with a warm wind blowing and a crew working busily around you. There are 3 minute and 12 minute MP3s and a Teleport Pack available. You'll be surprised to know given the above description that this has gone into the surreal category. See Soundscapes > Surreal. I have also updated Ocean Playground to add a Teleport Pack - this soundscape can now be played in Teleport Player. This can be found in Soundscapes > Ambient. |

It's been a little while in progress but V0.6 will have a number of new features to show for its development time. I thought I would outline the current ones just now. - Windows 64-bit fix
- New Teleport Pack Manager which allows you to check disk space usage and remove packs easily
- New About layout designed to better use the image associatd with a Pack
- Some tweaks to allow more interesting soundscapes to be released soon
For the Editor there has been significant changes: - New Trace dialogue enables you to see what any Teleport Pack is doing while playing
- New Adoption / OrphanThreads - these allow a Thread to be created which can then be spawned by one or more SoundThreads and/or other OrphanThreads
- Tree can be collapsed while changes are made - nodes will not auto-expand in the SoundThread tree
- ListenerOrder options moved to TelePack
- Defaults improved so that a Thread will by default be played every time
- Improvement to handling of a moving listener (listener moves towards / away from sounds)

A new soundscape has been released: Ocean Playground. I wasn't dedicated enough to dive down myself and record the sounds for this new underwater effort but luckily some good people have already done so and contributed to Freesound. I'll admit it's not a superb example in audio quality but that's the nature of underwater samples (I'm guessing - given as I said I haven't been down there). It was a bit of work to create something pleasant to listen to but I believe that the 3 and 12 minute MP3s have been worth the work. Check for yourself under Soundscapes -> Ambient and feel free to let me know. There's not a Teleport Pack for this yet as it requires a new version of the software - I hope that this will be released shortly. Enjoy your swim.. |
